After going through 6-7 reviews on MS, I finally went to watch MASTI yesterday and it was a total Paisa Vasool Affair.All the characters have really fitted in their respective roles and it is also very well directed by Indra Kumar.
The first Half is really hillarious and deals with 3 friends, I guess movies with 3 friends as leads is the latest Trend of Bollywood.As by now all of you know the story of MASTI I wont give you the story details.I would talk about the performances.
The best out of the three for me is RITEISH(yes he has also changed his name aka SUNEIL SHETTY).He has got awesome facial expressions which he rolls out across the length of the movie.Plus he has got a very good screen presence, I have not seen his 2 previous movies but this is one noteworthy performance.Vivek Oberoi is as always acted superbly and for me he is the Star of the next 5-6 years atleast.His new hairstyle is also looking cool and now I am eagerly awaiting his Yuva and Kyon...Ho gaya na Pyaar with ASH.
Aftab has again given a very good comic performance after APD, but his expressions remain the same all the time. But all in all every 3 of the lead actors are good in the movie.
I HATE TARA SHARMA`S AWFUL VOICE. She has even beaten Rani`s voice by some distance. Every time she used to talk in the movie I used to close my ears. The other 2 heroines are okey-dokey inspite of the short roles they have in the movie. Archana Puran Singh is unwarranted for and Satish Shah is as always good in his comic roles. Ajay Devgan and Lara dutta have also given noteworthy performances but I sincerely feel there was no need to take Ajay Devgan in the role he has been given any other actor could have done that, actually he has been wasted in this movie.
But the only thing I didnt like about this movie was how the story was unnecessarily stretched in the late second Half it was a bit boring and I was really feeling like when would this finish...
All in All a very good movie which can be watched by all even by families as today the audiences have become really mature and no more inhibitive like in the Past.Indra Kumar must be commended for his sleak direction like he has done in the past in movies like Dil, Beta, Ishq and others.
Go out, watch this movie and have a blast with your Friends or Family. Definitely not to be missed...
