After a long long time, I am writing a review whole-heartedly and with high level of enthusiasm because MASTI is a really really superb, entertaining and enjoyable flick from start till end in a real sense.
Just forget about the sex factor and the negative reviews regarding it, because this film is clearly categorized for adults as a sex comedy so there is no room left for conservative generation?s century old criticism or to label its jokes as ?cheap?.
The story is about three married friends and their miserable married lives. They trapped by two special characters in this film with the help of their wives who tried to set them on the right track, and this simple concept is decorated with lot of laughter, situational comedy, sex jokes, gestures and lot of bone tickling irresistible fun that will give u much more joy even more then your money for the ticket of this film.
Music is good, foot tapping and enjoyable that gels with the mood of the film very well.
After super consecutive successes of DIL, BETA, RAJA and ISHQ and super flop status of MANN and AASHIQ, director INDRA KUMAR is again in his full form and this time even more better then his previous hits because MASTI is A to Z fun ..and what a superb fun? it don?t force love story like dil, melodrama like beta, overdoses of brotherly love like raja and idiotic logics like ishq?.. simply superb fun, and I must say INDRA KUMAR has given his career best result in direction with MASTI.
Screenplay and tempo is the soul of the film , the audience didn?t get bored for even a minute throughout the film . The treatment of the film is so slick, so interesting so funny and so superb that u irresistibly say WAH WAH.
Performance wise all actors did a good job, but special mention to Aftab the cartoonic expressions of which makes u laugh loudly, also retish and vivkek oberoi look very likable and refreshing. The new girl and amrita rao are really funny specially amrita look so cute and funny in that Chipkoo BIWI ?s character ? Tara Sharma is so so? Ajay did an ok job while Lara was also likable and added grace to the film .
Archna puran singh makes me laugh a lot, and after a long time she entertains and not annoyed ? all the sex jokes were hilarious but I think the GAY JOKES are a bit overdone and those should be in limits , specially the PRACTICAL BL0WJOBS scenes.
But one thing I wanna mention that Masti is NOT the first sex comedy of indian cinema as it is being portrayed ? Jhankaar beats (2003) can be labeled as a first ful fledged sex comedy amnd also some situations like BL0WJOB of Rinki khanna to Rahul bose in the car was similar to some same scenes in MASTI also there were a lot of adult and sex jokes in it, so Jhankaar Beats was the first sex comedy of Indian cinema.
Anyhow, I really enjoyed a film after a long long time from A to Z whoel heartedly after Andaz apna apna (1994) and Hera pheri (1999)? even Hungaama didn?t impressed me that much .
You can enjoy this flick alone, or if u have a bunch of close friends/college university mates, with whom u can share adult jokes then this can be an ideal entertainment for you.
Even for a liberal and non-conservative family this can be a good entertainment while for the orthodox families it is a strict NO NO?
I watched this film with some of my close cousins and we enjoyed every bit of it? believe u me , watch this flick and like me u will also say irresistibly ..WAH...! MAZA AA GAYA?
