Life?s been so hectic these days and there is no time to die! But then, it?s imperative to take time out for yourself and enjoy it to the fullest! Many a times, I just laze around with my family and friends and this time too it weren?t any different!
But then, I caught up with the new movie called Masti. I must say that I was waiting for this movie to release and when it did I was there in the movie theatre with friends having some masti watching Masti.
So, let me set the direction in which my review is going to drift: I liked the movie and so did my friends! And hence, I will be concentrating on the positive aspects of this movie.
Reasons- well, here they are:
1) It?s been some while now since my academic life got over. This movie reminded me of my colorful college days with friends!
The last time I went to Xavier?s, I found it?s still all the same, except that the faces have changed. Like me, everyone has an emotional string or two attached to their school or college (days)! Ain?t I right? ;-)
The story in a nutshell: The movie starts off with three college friends romancing their time with some wonderful experiences (which we all want to carry, don?t we?!). As the college days draw towards an end, life takes them in separate directions. Finally they meet after some years back in Bombay and as it happens revisit their golden days of the past.
All of them are married....but....then, they are unhappy because they feel that they are not happy with their wives. Why? Because Aftab Shivdasani?s wife is over religious, Ritesh Deshmukh?s wife controls his entire life and wants him to become a body builder and Vivek Oberoi?s wife doesn?t give him any space.
As they are lamenting over they marriage woes, Aftab comes up with an idea of having an extra-marital affair! But then, Vivek?s wives overhears the plan and informs the other wives and also report it to their friends Lara Dutta and Ajay Devgan. And what follows is a series of hilarious events crafted by Ajay Devgan to give the three guys a hard time to that they learn the lesson that home is where wife is!
2) I felt that the comedy was natural and the timing was superb.
3) Characterization was spot on and the actors gelled in their respective roles.
4) The songs and dance sequence were soulful, well choreographed and beautifully picturised, especially the song- Dil de diya hain, jaan tumhe denge, daga nahi karenge sanam.
Overall, it?s a simple movie on a prevalent subject brought out in a humorous way. I have always maintained comedy movie is the most difficult genre for a director and storywriter and I feel that this movie has the potential to make you smile and maybe laugh too!
Till next time,
Keep smiling INDIA, Chhail:-)
