Directed by: Milap Zaveri
Star Cast: Sunny Leone, Tusshar Kapoor, Vir Das, Shaad Randhwa, Asrani, Suresh Menon, Ritesh Deshmukh( cameo)
All the hype is not gold. Mastizaade created quite a buzz with its trailer. It had everything to become a blockbuster. a tried and tested, usually safe, adult comedy formula, Sunny Leone in double role( which is more than any guy can ask for), a successful director, decent cast, king of adult comedy himself( in a guest appearance though: -/) . But where it obviously underscores is( no points for guessing) in its script.
The story is about two guys( Tushar and Vir) who get fired from their ad agency for publishing x-rated content. Both of them are sex-obsessed like their guru( Ritesh Deshmukh, of course) . They go on to open their own ad agengy. Sunny Leons( double role) are twin sisters of which one is modern and the othernot so( you know, values and everything) . As the fate would have it, all of these four would meet in a rehab and get lucky enough to win a lucky draw for a free trip. What happens next is outright boring, and ludicrous. Adult comedy, double meaning jokes are fine, but they just fail to make you laugh here.
Ritesh Deshmukh is genuinely missed( no one does this better than him), Tushar Kapoor is not much different from the role he played in Kya kool hai hum 3, Vir Das is decent, Sunny Leone is not as charming as she could be, Asrani is wasted. The music is okayish. Cinematography, not so much! If you have nothing else to do and is looking for a passtime, you can go for this movie, but not with much( read any) expectations.
