Well to be precise , I would exactly be following the hints given to write this repport.
Firstly, I would like to point out that the nearest station is not Nerul but Neral.You could get deatiled information about how to get there at the Maharashtra Tourism office.The staff there , I must say is friendly, at least as far as the phone calls are concerned.
I went to Matheran because it was the closest and most easy to reach hill station from mumbai;and with the time I had in hand it seemed the most viable(a day or two).it provides erfect getaway from mumbai.
I liked my trip although I went during the rainy season which is not the perfect time to be in matheran because the fog hides all the view.Hence, the best time to go would be october when mumbai is unbearably hot butmatheran would provide a cool calm envoiurnment.
It is recommened for all who would like to get away for a weekend etc to take time out and relax.It is a nice place for people who like it on foot because no vehicles are allowed inside the city;all travelling is to be done on foot or on horses etc for the eople not so inclined towards walking.
overall, a memorable trip for anyone who enjoys nature .
