Similarly , please donot ever be persuaded in believing that Maurya Patna is a Hotel ...and that to a ’’ Star ’’ hotel !! ( Not sure if it is 3 * or 4 * or 40 *s !!! )
You may wish to name it anything but a Hotel worth a ’’ Review ’’
Its really an apology of a Hotel !
I had the misfortune of spending 2 nights in that Hotel !

My initial dreams almost shattered !!
Taking a cue from the name ’’ Maurya ’’ I had hoped to see chivalrous waiters , lion hearted managers , & romantic female receptionists , as I enter the hotel.
It was a damp squib !
I saw the ’’ Bidi’’ smoking security guard :-(
I saw the ’’ Khaini chewing ’’ bellboys & waiters.
I saw the red lipped & red tongued ( from chewing Paan ) managers.
However ....
The women were a saving grace ( as they are almost always ! ) :-) Pretty much pretty , suave & well mannered.
The Hotel
Nothing really ’’ HOT ’’ about the ’’ HOTEL ’’
The front office & the lobby has a very stale odour floating.It is rather repulsive if you are checking in early mornings ( as I did ! ) Its a smell of a nauseating mixture of stale food & damp carpets ( Yuck )
The rooms are bad !!! PERIOD !! Worn out carpets , stained walls ( needs a coat of paint ASAP ) I had few friendly cockroaches keeping me company at night while I struggled to sleep ...rather pretended to sleep.
The Food is tolerable !! As in you won’t die ...but then again you won’t start writing a song in its praise either.
Over all ....I would recommend that you stay in Addis Ababa & do Patna ex Addis Ababa than taking a risk & staying in Maurya Patna !
