Not worthy enough!

Hi All,

I visited Hotel Mayur on East street in Pune and must say that was not satisfied at all. I am food junkie and had visited many places and have tried many restaurants and this one stands on the last footage! The reasons are as follows:

  1. The staff is rude: My sisters entered the hotel and I was following them after parking the car. Someone at the reception stopped and asked " Kahan Ja rahe ho? " I replied " Bartan Dhone" Are bhai Hotel hai toh Khana khane aaya hoon. I pointed my sisters who were already seated and asked him whether I can join them. He nodded as if he made me a favour!

  2. People serving: They were serving as if they are fed of the job and want us to have our food as soon as possible so that they can get rid of us.

  3. The quality of the food was not up to the mark. I didn’t like anything except the Maal Puwa (A sweet). Rest was of the quality that we get at any road side eateries. Nothing outstanding.

  4. Pricing: They charge you Rs.180/- for the food and I personally feel its not worth it. And yes this rate is for Monday to Friday. On Weekends its Rs.250/- and this does not include sweet. It means that you have to pay extra if in case you need to have one! Once I tried Hotel Rajdhani in Goldadlabs in Kalyaninagar and food here is one of the best I had tasted in Pune. And they charge you Rs.125/- and that includes Sweet as well. At the end of the meals they offer you Paan (Rs.10 extra) and its very good as well. Coming to Mayur, their food is below average and they have a very casual approach. I am not mentioning prices just to make a point that they are costly and others are not. I am stressing on the fact on the value that we derive when we spend on anything. If we go to a 5 star hotel we know or expect what we are going to go through. Any rational person would think of shelling money for something worthy. And Mayur is not the place to justify this thinking.

  5. Finally, at the end of the meals they don’t even offer you finger bowls. Anyways we were not there to have some hot water in a bowl. But you expect this in some good places. And a horror is they start collecting the stuff even before you have finished.

Some experiences are good and some are not that good enough and this one was below average. It was like watching Chandini Chowk to China on a weekend @ 250 and coming out frustrated.

I just feel bad that my sisters were not happy about the place. They didn’t said anything to me, but I sensed it. I am not going to visit this place again. So any of you folks, please stay away from this place and spare yourself from a unsatisfied experience.

(I have written this review just to make aware my Punities and any guest that come our city.)

Enjoy.
