Life without spice is absolutely boring ! Hey come on...we all read Page 3 bade chavse !
Once upon a time, Spice Girls were quite a hip thing ! They split and everything was bland ! Thanks God that they had the Spice in their name as well as in their make-out too !
Then Ms. Spears and Ms. Alguira came and spiced the silver screens... Meantime, janet also added some ginger-garlic !
On the other side, on our coast, the spice was getting spicier day by day !
We had Bipasha first, then we had Mallika and then followed a bland chics claiming to be the bold babes !
The body-ache aka tadka aka skin-show has been the gift of American land !
The land of McDonalds !
* Where is the spice ? *
McDonald arrived in india with much fanfare and being a kid at that time was one of the person who stood in the long queue outside their first outle in mumbai ! And also made my parents to stand in these queues too !
Those Golden Arcs had some jadoo in them at that time enthralling the kids, youth and grown-ups.
At that time, we feasted hungrily on the crispy finger chips ! We ate greedily that cheesy burgers ! I literally ate the chilly sauce given with finger chips like a somalian kid eating any piece of food given to him.
As I started growing up, I started admiring the way the employees at McDonalds behaved, the way they spoke, they behaved, it left an impression on me.
But here , from this point of time, something went wrong.. and the joker outside Mac never smiled in India !!!
The beef controvresy demolished a few outlets in India ! Blast at the McDonalds outlet in Mumbai Central also made some dent ! The menu started becoming a bit monotonous...
Smart management at Mcd sensed it and introduced a few new avtaars , a few schemes, a few price variations on their menu card...
But it was all the same... all their dishes tasted same irrespective of the names and prices !
Meanwhile, other players made smart entry in India and immediately sensed the need for indian spice . It was smarter on their part to know that Indians can’t eat a bland food regularly, not at McDonalds i.e. World’s largest food chain...
Pizza Hut introduced tandoori pizza and is making money...but look at Sub-way it is going McDonalds way...
A few days back, I shared my above feelings with my friends, he replied ’’Neena, u r working professional now. McD is not meant for u and it was never meant for u. It was always meant for kids in India..’’
I shot back ’’Come to any outlet in Mumbai where I can show you that McDonalds is now frequented by love birds not by kids. Love birds frequent it because there are not as may peopel to disturb them’’....
* My dear friend Mac, We dont mind paying heavy amount if we are served the food that we like. And hey... Kids dont love u now.. *
