I walked into emergency on 14th sep’2012 at 9.30 pm on friday . My american colleague had an abortion of her twins in India and needed medical assistance immediately. I was told medanta is the best hosptial so we went there. In emergency, I told my situation and asked for a gynae to examine her. The person at the desk said there is no female doctor available at that hour ( 9.30 pm) . He told me the doctor is only available on call. So i said" please call her". He seemed least interested in what I told him and did not bother to call her.
After waiting for 10 min, I asked him is the doctor coming, to which he said no she cannot come now , you come in the morning. I told him the emergency is now and if i could have waited for morning i would have. After arguing for more than 15 min, I asked him " are you suggesting I go to another hospital" he said " yes please go to another hospital". I went to max and was immediately taken care of. No one should visit medanta as the attitude of the staff is very bad.
People come to medanta for the name it has earned from word of mouth, but like this no one will think of coming to medanta.
