I regret ever going to this Doctor. She lied to me & took advantage of me. She didnt have my test results ready in time for my counselling session with her.
Before I can even engage in my counselling session with her, she started manipulating me by using her assistant/ward to make me do several tests, which I had already done before.
After I had paid my consultation fees she tells me that she wont be available for my session after I have done my tests.
Complete disregard for the patients deadlines. Why not tell me before I book my fXXXn session that youre not available?
I had booked an appointment with my regular doctor 1 week in advance.
She shouted at me and lashed out at me in her room when I was told to go inside by her assistant.
I dont know what I did wrong.
Firstly, I did not book my appointment with her.
I booked my Appointment with another Doctor whom I was told was unavailable by the reception desk when I went there. I had booked him 1 week in advance.
The reception desk told me to take an appointment with this doctor instead as she was the only one available that day.
I was billed for the tests the first thing when I went there but she sends me the report after my counselling session with her.
The moment you book an appointment here, the cheating and lying will begin. Nothing will be done on time, youll have to waste days because of their politics. The Doctor wont tell you before youre billed whether your tests will be ready on time or not.
Why am I paying 2500 per test if the doctor doesnt even have the results on time for my next session?
I went to Medanta because I was facing Stress in my Personal/Professional Life & my regular counselor was unavailable.
I was a bit apprehensive. But needed some help because I couldnt figure out what to do.
I had booked a consultation with a therapist but he wasnt available on the day so I was told to proceed with Dr instead. I went ahead since I didnt have a choice. I was in Gurgaon for a week on a Project
When I was first instructed to go to her room by the ward, I went inside and sat down quietly on the chair.
She lashed out at me and scolded me asking me "What did I want & Why was I there".
This was after I had paid the consultation fees.
I didnt know what to say and was shocked. I was confused and didnt know how to answer. I was told to go in by the assistant ward outside her room. I didnt know what did I do.
She then tells me to wait in the room and goes out.
I should have walked away the moment this happened. I felt strange since I needed some help but instead the Doctor shouts at me asking me What I am there for.
This has never happened to me before. I knew I shouldnt have come here.
The assistant ward calls me outside into another room and tells me I need to do a few tests.
I had done 2 tests earlier with my regular counselor. I had the reports with me. I asked the resident that why am I being asked to do the tests, I already have the reports.
The testing charges here are expensive if you dont have insurance.
At clinics these tests cost 500-1000 inr max. Here they cost 2, 500/test. They even take a few hours to complete and so time is wasted.
I spent that day on about 4 tests, 2 of which I was familiar with as I had done them before. The assistant ward outside the office told me the 2 tests I had done from my regular therapist were unclear. So I had to do all 4.
After 2 days I was told to return to the hospital to go through my test results and engage in my therapy session.
I came back after 2 days and was told by the Assistant/Receptionist in the waiting room that I have to pay for the test results. I reminded her that I was already billed for all the tests previously. She said the Doctor said that I need to pay again. This, again was confusing.
I paid again for the session to finally discuss my problems, but when I entered, my test results had not been processed. They werent even ready. The Test Report was not even ready like I was told.
She sat there with a straight face, holding up the papers pretending to read the tests which I had filled out, but they werent ready. This was different from my usual counselor.
I wanted to ask her about this but remembered her lashing out at me 2 days earlier.
I felt this was strange at the time but decided not to question it and proceeded with the counselling. I should have questioned her on why my results werent ready as she had 2 days to process them. Why was I asked to do them again when they werent even being used.
I had to be back to work in Delhi the following day so eventually had to leave the next day which I was upfront about on my initial consultation. I told her about my schedule in advance and expected her to do the same.
I could have planned my appointments more appropriately had she told me about her timings.
She processes my Test Results after 6 days which irritated & angered me since I could not make the most of my limited time in Medanta hospital.
If she was busy she could have been upfront about her schedule and I could have made my appointment on a later date but instead of telling me that she doesnt have time to process the results she just ignores them and engages in counselling without them.
I had told her about my schedule on my initial consultation. Instead she chooses her ward to communicate with me instead of speaking to me herself. From the start this whole thing was a bad experience with her shouting at me in her room.
I understand the time and pressure at Set-up such as this but Im just angry because of the way I am manipulated with as the patient. Im getting my test results after 6 days of visiting. What good is that to me. The first thing that I was made to do here were these tests but they dont even have my report ready. I should have asked this bluntly as any normal person would do but I didnt want to upset the doctor.
It was my mistake of not speaking up about it when I had the chance during the session with her. I noticed it there and was puzzled as to why the protocol is different from my regular counselor.
Why am I being manipulated by my own Doctor. Tell me in advance that youre not available on a set date rather than deceiving and manipulating me just because you dont have time to do the work.
In the end before leaving she asks me to rate my experience with her on this website and CrediHealth doctors platform. She tells me that the management are asking the doctors to instruct the patients to write reviews.
I realized then that something was wrong. Nobody has ever asked met so brazenly to give him a review.
[Update]
Since then I have spoken to a few of my friends and relatives in Gurgaon and most of them have similar stories of how they were treated the very first time they went there.
Some doctors are extremely rude; maybe because they are overloaded with work, but some of them are just disrespectful and unprofessional.
Most of the bad experiences in my family circle has been from the female doctors here.
They are very manipulative. Even if you havent booked an appointment with them you will be thrown on to them by the doctor you have booked with, whether you like it or not.
I genuinely thought that the Doctors here would be very qualified. I even checked their website for the profiles of the Doctor before I booked the appointment. It just happened that the one I booked with wasnt available so they gave me this female doctor who then lashes out at me the first time I enter her room.
I recommend the male patients to be very careful when dealing with the female doctors. They will do nothing for you. Also be careful if your doctor tries to send you to someone else in his team. He will bill you for your appointment with him and after 5 to 10 minutes of interrogating you will simply send you to someone else in his team and then you will be billed again by the second doctor.
They are never upfront and explicit when they bill you for the charges. During the initial consultation, they will ask you personal details and information about you and then just send you out of the room. They dont tell you explicitly how much you will have to pay for your whole session with the doctor.
I was surprised that the same thing happened with others in my friend circle and some of my relatives.
Even they were made to transfer from one doctor to another whilst being billed by each one.
The reception desk just coaxed me into taking an appointment with this doctor.
