Medipoint-Aundh - Crass commercialization - Avoid

I was diagnosed for Jaundice at this hospital. Typically if a person is diagnosed they are admited for max a week, sometimes its not even required.

I was made to stay in the hospital for 12 days. Their only intention was to make money since my insurance was covered by my employer.

Post release the doctor (Mrs. Modkharkar) asked me to visit her private clinic and charged me 350/- per visit. This was in 2006 when the fees were around 100 (150 max)

The sitting area near the reception is not pleasant at all and we already feel sick when you spend 5-10 mins there.

At the second instance my 84 year grandmother fell ill with giddiness. The Medipoint doc (again Mrs. Modkharkar) took ECG and asked her be admitted for at least 2 days for observation. They were again trying to milk money. Due to my previous experience with this hospital I decided to take a second opinion and took her to Kotbagi Hospital. There the doc first made my grandmother relax, started chatting with her and then took ECG. He told us that she has nothing wrong and it was pure old age and exhaustion which made her feel giddy. He just asked her to eat some fruits and rest. Not a single tablet was given. He just told us to observe her for 24 hrs and let him know.

From the above 2 experiences we never go to Medipoint, God willing I never will have to.

I have also heard some disgusting stories about the Director there, Dr. Oswal. Since I dont have data abt him, I will not add any potential rumours in this review.

Take care all of you, and GOD forbid you never have to visit this hospital.

Cheers !
