HIGHLY TALENTED
Meera Jasmine may be one of the most talented artists the Malayalam movie industry has seen so far. Jasmin Mary Joseph, now known as Meera Jasmine has come a long way as an actress now.
There may not be anyone close to the Malayalam movies, talking about her and her talent. She seems to be the number one choice for not only the Malayalam movie makers, but also in lots of other languages.
Beginning from not the best of the movies, Soothradharan - she advanced to better heights slowly through a number of good movies, not only in Malayalam, but also in Tamil and Telugu, overtaking all other actresses who competed, including Bhavana, Kavya Madhavan and Navya Nair.
The true fact that there has not been any chance for competition with Meera as she managed to prove that she is the current best in Malayalam. Her debut movie Run may be the hit that turned her luck.
GETTING INTO THE ACT
She got some real attention when her movies Kasthoorimaan (state award winning performance) and Swapnakoodu did well in the box office, even if no magic was created. Chakram, opposite to Prithviraj may be one movie she may want to forget. It was such a meaningless movie which drives the audience away.
The movie Paadam Onnu Oru Vilaapam won her not only the state award, but also the national award for the best actress. Unlike her previous movies, she managed to get a character role, and not a commercial one - her acting shows how badly she wanted a role like this.
Her role in the award winner was that of a young Muslim schoolgirl who is married to a man as his second wife. She gave her best performance ever and no wonder she won those awards.
AN ASSET TO THE INDUSTRY
With the simple, but beautiful looks and a huge amount of talent, she surely is an asset to the movie industry. In her latest movie Achuvinte Amma, she has given a brilliant performance that stuns even the best actresses of the industry.
She has handled the character of Achu, the young and somewhat naughty girl with an extraordinary amount of ease that she seems to live in the character, instead of acting.
Another one of her memorable characters is Jennifer in the movie Gramaphone. The true fact that I went for the movie because of her. It was a clear fact that Meera could keep her standards high and this movie was not at all an exception.
Even if Gramaphone was one of those good movies which didnt fare well in the box office, her acting was talked about and the other actress in the movie Navya Nair seemed to have disappeared under the shade of Meera.
MEERA CONTINUED
One of Meeras memorable performances comes in the movie Perumazhakkalam, where her character, the desperate Muslim girl Razia is another feather to her career. She is the one who provides a certain amount of beauty to the movie.
It surely is a huge achievement to give us these great characters that stay in our minds in such a short interval of time and lets hope that she continues her fantastic run in the movie industry.
She had been in some controversy in the past involving Prithviraj and then her family, but everything seems to be back to normal and she is back with even better performances.
I really dont expect anyone to give a better performance than Meera soon.....considering her potential, no wonder she won the National and State awards, and it will be no surprise if she bags more awards in future.....
LETS WISH HER SUCCESS IN HER UPCOMING MOVIES.....
