Meet Joe Black- An Entertaining Flick

Inspired by a character from the 1934 movie ‘Death Takes a Holiday’, this movie is the culmination of two decades of gestation. A profound and bitter-sweet movie, it sets a question of whether love can exist under the most extreme of circumstances.

Bill Parrish( Anthony Hopkins) is a media tycoon, loving father who is about to celebrate his 65th birthday. Leading a charmed and happy existence, he thinks nothing of it until somebody enters his world and rocks his boat. An enigmatic young man, Joe Black(Bradd Pitt), who in reality is really the personification of Death.

In this case, his work is to take Parrish to Pearly Gates. But Death did not bank on the fact that he has chosen the body of someone who for a brief moment earlier, had already met Parrish’s daughter, Susan. With such familiarity, as movies go, it becomes inevitable that she would fall for him.

Now that complicates the matter since love was never on the agenda and Death still had a job to do. Wat happens, does Death manage to kill his not so real father-in-law????? Check this movie out. A personal rating of 5/10, Meet Joe Black is an entertaining movie with good acts by all, except it does sometimes tend to drag.
