I had heard from a couple of people that this movie was a big waste of time and was not a good movie.
So it did not get rave reviews from the people that I listened to. However, when I was visiting my daughter in California she rented this movie.
I have to say, I thought that this movie was very funny and made me laugh more then once. As a matter of fact, it made me laugh so hard in a couple of places that it hurt my stomach.
Ben Stiller plays an excellent soon to be son in law and played his part in this movie well. So did DeNiro who usually does not appear in comedies. He pulled the straight man off perfectly.
Stiller got into one bad situation after another and pretty soon you find yourself feeling sorry for him and all of his bumbling mistakes. Kind of like Peter Sellers.
Meet the parents is just what the title sez, it is about a guy who wants to marry his girlfriend. He is going to ask the permission from the father. He manages to say and do all of the wrong things and he does them wrong so well.
This is a good movie to watch if you are feeling down. It will make you laugh.
