This book has all these answers. I have started reading this. My wife is not aware that I am reading it...but I read a section every day and put it to practice. It has opened my eyes a lot! Now, when my wife says something that I want to react to...a tiny voice whispers in my ear ’That is not what she meant...what she actually wants to tell you is...’. Ofcourse, it does not mean that I have become an ideal husband overnight. I just fought with her over something stupid just this morning, although that little voice was screaming in my head!!! But...now...I am that much more understanding.
Whether you are married and happy (why do you laugh?? Dont those two words go together or what ;-)?? or if you are planning on getting married (and thinking that you will never have misunderstanding problems!)...READ this book. You will be grateful you did!
However, I recommend that you dont read this like a novel. Read a bit...personalise it by trying it out! Then assess yourself on how you fared, and what you still need to work on. Then proceed with the next section. It might mean that you might take months to complete the book...but the effect will be permanent!!! Trust me!
Perhaps might be a good idea for you to read it alone first...and then once your wife sees the change in you, let her read part of it too...and then once you start respecting each other as much as you both love each other, you could read it together...as long as one of you dont remind the other...’Hey..you were supposed to do that!! Practice what you preach now...’!!!!
