When I went to the movies to see Spider Man I also seen the previews of Men In Black ll. I was so excited I couldn’t wait until July 3rd 2002 to see it at the theaters. Well the other day me and my daughter and her two friends went to watch the movie. First let me tell you a little about the first movie, so then you will understand more about part ll. Then I will close the review out with my general thoughts on the movie.

When we last left agent J “Will Smith” and agent K “Tommy Lee Jones” in part one of Men in Black Agent K was being sent back to the “real world”, he was no longer going to be a MIB agent. He wanted to retire and be with his wife again. So agent J (Will) got a new partner, and this time it was a lady. The new partner was the lady from the morgue, this would be the first time ever that a MIB agent was a women. So that is how part one ended. Now onto MIB ll.
Men In Black ll
With Agent “K” now a civilian, Agent “J” (Will) is now considered the “NEW” honcho on the block. He is now the one who gets to use the bigger fighting guns, and use the green laser that takes your memory away. There is one big problem that Agent “J” now has, and that is finding a good partner. In part one the new girl was to be his partner, but soon find out that she decided life in the morgue is more her cup of tea instead of a MIB agent, so Will erases her memory and sends her back to civilian life as well. I guess Will kept erasing all his ‘new’ partners memory so now he has to have a “alien dog” as his new partner.
In this movie Will has to bring Agent “K” back from civilian life because he needs the only one great agent in the world to help him save Earth. Agent “K” is also the only one who knew what the evil alien wanted and were it might be. The evil alien also wanted to find agent “K” as well because she knew that he could help her. So Will takes off to find Tommy Lee. He is now a postal worker, and of course has no idea that he once use to be the best alien fighter agent in the world. It was hard at first to prove to Tommy Lee that he was a agent, but once the aliens in the postal department showed their true faces Tommy knew that Will was telling the truth.
Now the problem facing them now was to get back to the MIB department and get Tommy’s memory back so he could help. Once at that department of MIB Will gives him the tour again. Things are not the same, but Tommy Lee doesn’t know that. Will gives him his new gun the “cricket” it is a small tiny gun but powerful, and then he takes him to put on his last suit he will ever wear again the MIB suit. Next is the memory to be restored, but that doesn’t happen cause the evil alien had taken over the MIB department, now they had to be flushed out of the department to hide from the evil alien.
Conclusion
I have to stop there because I want you to watch the movie now to see what happens to Tommy and Will. The movie is funny, but yet I felt the story line could have been better, and the ending I really didn’t understand. I think the parts with the “dog” were the funniest, which surprised me because Will was the one who I thought would steal the comedy area in the movie. The other part that I thought was really funny is when Tommy Lee has to go to the civilian alien population and get them to give him back his memory. This part is really funny when you see what happens to Tommy Lee at that time. I thought it was cool that Will had the power in this movie instead of Tommy Lee, but Tommy finally ends up with the power and the driving.
The actors were all great, and the action was cool and special effects, but the story line could have been something different. I can’t give this review a 5 star rate because of the story line. I don’t believe this is going to be a blockbuster hit this summer, but it should still do ok in the rating department. You didn’t have as much funnies lines from Will in this movie as part 1 did. I would still suggest you watch this movie anyway cause it is good, but not the best. I guess you could say that movie was like Will’s last movie “Ali” we thought it was going to be one big hit but it wasn’t. I say that the “DOG” stole the show away from the actors in this one.
