The first thing that struck me on accessing the site https://meramusic.com
was the design of the site. The design lacked liveliness because of the
dull colours used. The cartoon like icons used failed to create an
impact because of the poor choice of colours and fonts.
The first section which caught my attention was the ’’club’’. However
on reading more details on the ’’club’’ it appeared that it was a half
hearted attempt and an eyewash. There was no sign of the ’’Grand Draw’’
or its ’’prizewinner’’ who are supposed to win free MP3 players. There
was no publicity of any events or any artist that users are likely to
meet.
I tried registering for the club. A small note said ’’Please press
Submit just once! ’’ but on clicking the button nothing happened at all.
There was no notifying message and there was no way I could know if I
was registered or not. The home page of meramusic.com claims to play
’’YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC LIVE !!! ’’ but in real it just plays real audio
files. It is NOT A RADIO SITE which the term ’’Live’’ makes u
understand.
The good thing about the site is that it has been a good attempt to
portray a wide range of music collection. The site has a wider range
than even music on indiatimes.com
Unfortunately the site fails to deliver the goods due to shabby
presentation. Sometimes you think if the site is live and functioning
or it is just another of those dead sites where the developers have
lost interest.
