Mere angne me is a daily soap with lots of saas bahu drama, there is a little bit of romance between Shivam and Riya who are the main protagonists of the show. But Shivam’s daadi Shanti devi and his bua Sarla keep the troubles coming for the entire household of Shantiniketan.
Shanti devi is the typical monster in law who is so money minded, dominating& malicious, she’ll do anything to maintain her monopoly and fear. Her poor bahu kusiya is as silly as a goose, she’s always apologising to things she has not done, which only makes her oppressor more strong and cruel.
Even when she has become a mother in law she still can’t stand up for herself against her own saas. I am critising her, kusiya is the one character who has my deepest sympathy, I admire her sacrifice, innocence and good nature. But how long are women going to keep sacrificying their lives! When are they going to find their courage and self-esteem. I hope the newer generation of Riya and Shivam’s sisters will be an example and source of upliftment of women.
There are some funny moments in the show and at times the dialogues are hilarious. I watch the show because at times, bitto raani(sonal), bullet raja, riya and raniya show a slight promise of standing up for themselves, sometimes they are brave enough to take a stand and defend what is wrong.
