Living in a consumer culture where the super fast, brief and unambiguos succeed, toolbars are a great way to do your dirty work.
Copy, cut, paste, back, forward, save, home, history, stop, favourites(ahh...my lifeline), Bold, Color, Font so on and so forth.
What would a browser be without such shortcut tools with self-explanatory icons (..some are cute too!)??
One such is the Merriam-Websters Tool Bar.
Dictionaries are required. Simple. Regardless of age, sex, experience...hair color?
I would carry one if I could...but I wont be able to do with a pocket size...I need the big mambas. and a thesaurus too please. But wheres the space? Its the v age. Virtual, Vertical, V (for peace).
So....when by default I got into this system, I met Merriam Websters Tool Bar.
err..did someone say a bar??
hic
So..before I digress any further....
this toolbar is brief, simple and easy. You can type in a word, choose either the dictionary or the thesaurus, depending upon what you want. You also have another icon which gives you the websites word of the day. So you get to learn something new everyday. These functions are also available on the right-click of the mouse.
It couldnt get simpler.
And its simple to install. From the website, you have all the downloads available. Minutes to install and theyre all free.
You have the
TOOL BAR - which looks up words in the dictionary and the thesaurus.
SEARCH BOX - which can be installed in your site so that visitors can look up words.
LOOK UP BUTTON - highlight a word on a page, click on the button and lo!
The best thing is that your queries will be answered in a new window...so you dont have the keep scrolling back and forward. I give an extra star for this feature....coz normally I have about 10 windows open and I have too less time to keep going back...if you know what I mean.
Just move on...dont look back!!
(oh..shut-up Sharada!)
Sorry..Im in a corny mood.

Ill be an angel and also tell you about the system requirements -
Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, or XP
Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher
Its as easy as a click!!
Another thing I like - during those few seconds before a meeting or after lunch or waiting on the telephone, I always keep looking for new words..it is so much fun and interesting too. I wouldnt have been able to do that if I had to go to the website each and everytime or worse use the hard bound one. The again...with these crammed..cubby holes called work space where were killing for space to put that extra new Year card....wheres the space for a large dictionary??
yada yada yada
gotta make like the wind.....
see you all nice people...
