The performance of actors was well. Vijay plays the leading role and sathyaraj, vadivelu with a great supporting role and sj suriya rocked well as an villian. Actress side nithya menon has the lead and samantha and kajal also perfomed well even though a small role.
The cinematography was done by gk vishnu and was good. Overall mersal is a good entertainer with a goo social message.
