I had booked Meru for a drop to BIAL on Mar 6th around 11 in the night via the app. 20 mins after the booking I got 3 repeated miss calls but realized it was Meru Cabs driver who called me!
The driver was not at all able to talk because of his sleepiness and finally I somehow made him understand the pick up address. The cab was extremely old and aesthetics were literally bad but these issues did not bother me because the pick up was ontime. I asked the driver to take the short route via Malleswaram 18th cross. He said he knows the route but took a wrong turn instead of the actual turn just before the vivekananda college. This led to some circus, multiple wrong roads(despite me telling that to go back and take the correct road) and finally I ended up paying INR 175 more.
After reaching the airport he handed over me a coupon of INR 75 telling that its toll gate charges. I was shocked to hear the "Toll Gate" charges - There is no toll while going to airport from Bangalore instead toll is collected only when you are exiting airport and move towards Hebbal. He did not give me any toll charge receipt, did not answer to any of my questions. Finally I had to pay him as I was getting delayed to my flight.
I raised a complaint with Meru for my experience and got my first response after 3 days. The CC guy Sandeep Jaiswal apologized for the issue and promised to issue a voucher of 250 and took my address. The voucher never came. With my persistent follow ups(5-6 mails) stretched over 2 weeks he apologized again and asked my Citru ID to credit it mentioning that was the easiest option to this I promptly shared my ID the same day. Its been more 3 weeks since this I have nether received the money nor anybody is answering my reminders, follow up mails.
It seems this is just an eye wash to cover the pathetic customer service attitude which they are nurturing from long time.
I do not recommend Meru again!
