96 working hours and I still not heard from Meru

I am really disgusted with the Meru cab service. Here is what I expect and here is what I got;


I booked a cab from Juhu to Chembur today for 7:15pm. Occassion: my friend/ ex-boss’ wedding reception. I am all ready with jewellery and trust meru to take me safely there and on time.


1) I expect an SMS about the details of the cab driver - I didnt get any message. I called at 7:05pm to check up on that. I was told that the cab would be 10 mins late and that I would get an SMS soon. I didnt get any message


2) I expect the cab to turn up on time and if it cant, then I expect Meru to communicate - 7:25pm: no SMS, no cab. I call the Meru number again and go for option 2 on the IVR. They insist that they have sent me a message and the cab will be delayed by another 10mins. I say there is no message in my inbox and that they should resend it.


3) 7:31: I recieve the message with the driver name and number(Wasim and 9322247016). I call the driver. He is at Linking road and has no knowledge about the Juhu assignment!


4) I call Meru again. Speak to Jeet Singh, the supervisor. I hear only Sorries . I dont care by now. Since its almost 7:45pm. He can send the Wassim cab my way and tells me it will take 10mins. No it wont. I have just spoken to the driver and he is at Linking road. It wont take less than 25 mins. Its done. I cant make it to the reception and I wholly and solely blame meru cab service for it. I CANCEL the cab.


5) 8:11pm - Mr Wassim calls. He is ready to take me to Chembur. Are you kidding me? 1 hour late. I dont take the cab.


I am extremely angry since I have missed a very dear friends wedding because of MERU. I require your cab company to write an apology letter to him.


Also, I was this issue to be taken up with the senior management. This is my third bad experience with Meru in the last one week. From the domestic airport on Tuesday I needed a cab for Juhu. There is no Meru stand within the airport anymore. So I was advised on calling the meru number by the airport staff present there. When I called the MERU number they told me that there is no service from the domestic airport and that the cabs are available within the airport. I tried to explain it to him that I am at the airport and there is no Meru cab service here anymore. He refused to agree and hung up. Then I saw a meru cab coming in to pick up another customer. And the driver asked me to call the MERU number. So here I was . stuck in a circular reference.


Needless to say I will not be using the service any more. Also, the least I expect is an apology letter to my friend on my bahalf.
