Life in a Metro..

I watched this movie in an unplanned way. Wife and son are off to "Nani House". Was thinking what to do, when suddenly a friend calls up.His wife and daughter also off to "Nani House" and we decide to watch this movie - 11.00 PM show(Well you have to make time to gulp couple of beers down)

Start for the multiplex well in time and get caught in Traffic Jam - yes at 10.30 in night - but that’s the life in Metro - Mumbai

Thankfully reach in time, and start watching the movie.

Got absorbed in the movie from the first scene - Irfaan and Konkana, Irfaan looking at Konkanna clevage while talking to her.

Would quickly run through the plot. The movie is about multiple stories, running parallely with some conncetion between them.

Shilpa and Kay Kay a couple in a loveless marriage, who are just staying under one roof. Kay Kay is sleeping with Kangana who works in his office. Sharman Joshi also works in the same office and is in love with Kangana. He has a luxury of independent flat in Mumbai, which is utilised by his bosses for their affairs. He keeps on giving them the keys anticipating  a promotion. Gives the keys to Kay Kay also, not realising that he will go with Kangana. Later even after knowing about Kay Kay and Kangana, still gives him the key hoping for a promotion.

Konkana is Shilpa’s sister and Kangana’s roommate. 30 years, virgin and  looking for groom desperately. Meets Irfan who is 38 and is also desperately looking for a bride.

Shipa meets Shiney who is a struggling stage artist and also a divorcee. One of the most amazingly portrayed story. Shipa asks him "Did she(his wife) leave him or he left her" Shiney looks ate her and says " Love left us" . Brilliant

Nafisa Ali is Shilpa’s Dance teacher. Old and  in a live in relationship with Dharmendra. In one of the last scenes, Dharmendra is taking Nafisa to hospital in a ambulance and they get stuck in traffic jam. Very identifiable, we had just come from a jam. This story was avoidable.

Acting wise I liked Sharmaan Joshi the best. Cant imagine that he is the same guy from Style. Kay kay as usual is brilliant. You really want to hate him. Shilpa has also done a great job. Konkana and Irfaan are very likable. Kangana is ok. Shiney is again at his usual best.

Anurag Basu has one again shown his class after Gangster. However attention to details is missing - Shilpa Shetty and Shiney take a BEST bus, which has Vihar lake as destination on the board, and they take a ticket to Churchgate. Must be a new looooonnnngggg route that BEST has come with, especially for this film.

Music is soothing . Something that you would love to listen while driving

Over all a great movie. I actually was feeling sorry for the couple who was sitting besides me. They were doing everyhing else other than watching movie. They missed a good movie.

We enjoyed this movie thoroughly. and yes again got caught in a jam while going back(a truck had overturned on the road) at 2 am.

Life in a metro.
