Last evening we went shopping to the Met Mall at Jaipur. To or utter surprise and horror, the KONE elevator in the mall first ’stalled’ and then DROPPED 2 FEET down. We were about 6 adults in a elevator designed for 15. We panicked, when we found NO ALARM button in the elevator. There was NO SAFETY or service record posted in the car AND there was no emergency phone. We did manage to come back to the parking lot in the basement. The story hasn’t ended here.
When we tried to approach the management there, this guy (later found to be a retd. Col from the forces) was absolutely casual about the whole thing!!!!
His reaction was "you are overreacting to all this. Planes fall from the sky. This was just an elevator dropping 2 feet".
If such holes were in top mgmt in our forces; GOD help us with with National Security. Can someone tell the big bosses in MGF METROPOLITAN to get their act together and not play with customer’s lives? This mall is sitting on an accident waiting to happen. All the storeowners and employees in the mall incidently know that this elevator is busted since past months AND that this Col. is a frustated old man who needs to be thrown out (or thrown in?? the cellar).
