Defective Micromax A110 Canvas 2 - service issues

I bought Micromax Canvas 2 on Jan 11, 2013. The phone which worked for 15 days stopped charging. I gave the phone to their service center Cell Tech, Egmore, Chennai on 11-Feb-2013 after driving for a long distance (this is the only service center of Micromax for smart phones). I was given Job No: SALKR003R4340 and told that the hardware in the phone would be replaced and returned back in two weeks. It is more than a month (today: 16-Mar-2013) and nothing happened.


The service center phone numbers: 044-42638373/2 are busy most of the time, and usually no body picks up when your get lucky and hear the ring. After repeatedly trying for more than 50 times, I was able to speak to their service rep who told me he could not get replacement hardware from Micromax and gave no commitment on the delivery date. I have been trying to reach Micromax on their customer relationship number mentioned on their website, which unfortunately is not working. It is really frustrating to pay more than Rs. 10, 000 for the phone and finding it not working within 15 days. On top of that, neither the company or service center taking responsibility to fix the phone in time. Buyers please beware of reliability and customer service before buying any Micromax products
