I bought Micromax Superfone A73 after researching on websites and other places. After going thru specs and feature list like dual sim, 3.5 inch display, video calling etc I was very excited about this phone. When I inquired about its price I became super excited and bought it immediately. However after I started using it slowly all my excitement vanished in 2 days of use.
The biggest problem with this phone is that it is slow like hell. Even the basic function like calling is slow like anything. The moment you press call button it takes at least 5 seconds to get calling pad and Call log. This could be because of low RAM (256) but still u expect this basic feature to function smoothly. Dual sim function works fine.
The other problem is the Camera . The camera (2MP) is as good as not having one. It works fine only outdoors in the sunlight. Indoors even in day time you get dark to very dark pictures. And u just cant take pictures in the night anywhere because mostly u get black screen. The front camera is also as bad as front and shows very dark pictures while making video calls.
About features and android functions: As far as other features goes you can just show off to your friends that you have all but when it comes to performance its not the phone one should look out for. Even the Google play does not open most of the time because of slowness of the phone. I generally use Wi FI if I have to download some applications. There also the speed is very slow.
Although I understand that there are limitations of the processor and RAM but I have used and seen other Android phones with almost similar configuration but they are not like this. The basic functions like calling messaging are fast in other phones. Other irritating part is Micromax has preloaded this phone with lots of applications which are not useful and you cant even remove them. They eat up lots of memory and you are left with very little memory to support your choice of applications to download from Google Play.The phone often hangs while using applications.
About Multimedia: Music quality is decent. However I have never experienced a weaker FM receiver than this phone, you dont get clear signals anywhere you go.
About Battery: The battery back-up is decent and runs for full day with normal calling and internet usage.
The plus side is that at Rs. 6800 you get a big screen dual sim Android phone which looks good in your hand. After the initial excitement I am suffering everyday and now planning to buy another phone.
To summarize, If someone is looking for all feature Android phone at lowest price and if can compromise on the performance one can look for Micromax Superfone A73.
