I did see this product in the US for$30, but it was not on my hitlist so I didnt buy it then.
Meanwhile, my colleagues had purchased some of these, and were using it in the office so I got to try it.
After my return, I spotted this in Croma for . . .INR 1100. INR 500 cheaper than the US price.
Pros:
- Small, comfortable to use and ergonomic. There is a slot to insert the wireless receiver when not in use. To take it out, just press the button and it pops out.
There is enough rubber lining provided at the sides so it does not slip out even when my palms are really sweaty.
Very accurate(even for games). Uses a blue led for tracking movements, instead of the ubiquitous red.
It does not attract unwanted attention unlike a similar prod from logitec, and the blue light it uses for tracking is not extremely bright.
Battery life is good too. As long as you remember to turn off the mouse when you are not using it.
1 AA duracell alkaline battery should last you a month if you use it 12 hours a day everyday.
- Low battery indicator glows red and gives you 2-3 days time to get another battery.
Cons:
Occasional Button misfires. Not an issue worth complaining about at all.
Will drain its battery if you leave it on forget to turn it off when you are not using it.
Some other thoughts: Mouse stops working when the alkaline battery still has 1 volt of potential difference. I dont now about other wireless mice, but for a low power device like this, it would be really nice if it could use some of the additional juice. I dont have a lot of clocks to put half used batteries into.
