I purchased a microtek inverter model UPSSEBZ 850/ S.No.10JGWNB128682 in January 2011.
The unit was malfunctioning and not working when power failed and I reported to the supplier on 30.4.2011 who checked the system and said the battery was OK and it was a fault with the inverter and asked me to report to the MIcrotek service center in Chennai - Phone 4322 7595.
I complained to MIcrotek chennai on 3.5.2011 and they registered the complaint with no 6919 and said the techincian will come and rectify the fault on 4.5.2011.
Nobody came on 4.5.2011
I contacted them again on 5.5.2011 and they promised to send the technician on the same day by evening. . no body came.
I again called them on 6.5.2011 and they promised to get it done on the same day. but again no luck.
On 7.5.2011 saturday, when I called they said they will try t attend it by MONDAY 9thMay.
After further followup until now they have not bothered to address the problem still as on 23.5.2011 that is 3 weeks from the complaint date. So much for prompt service!
I am unable to understand why MIcrotek service shoud be so pathetic in the way it responds to customer complaint when they claim that Microtek is the best in India. This is not the waythe best will treat customers.
I am not happy with the irresponsible attitude of the service center and the way they keep complaints unattended for so long. They dont even answer calls on landline as well as mobile. It is an ordeal to manage to get them on phone. They dont reply email complaints either. They are like our politicians - neither accountable nor responsible.
At the time of purchase they sweet talk us into believing that they are very prompt in attending to complaints.
The very idea of having an inverter is to cover powercuts and if we have to suffer power cuts for several days in spite of paying through the nose for an inverter, it does not speak well about Microtek.
My advice to fellow Mouthshut members is . dont buy Microtek if you want prompt service.
Be prepared to face poor service if you have already made the mistake of buying Microtek as I unfortunately did.
God save poor consumers like us.
