THIS REVIEW IS FOR ALCOM UPS MANUFACTURED BY ALLIED COMMUNICATIONS...
FRIENDS PLEASE STAY CLEAR..
On flight (Sahara Airlines) from Bangalore to Mumbai I purchased an Alcom UPS(800VA) (Allied Communications), through an Auction.

The UPS came without any warranty card or any operating manual , instead only a piece of paper was provided which included the numbers (cell phone numbers no addresses are provided) of various customer care representatives in various Indian cities.

I plugged the UPS and my computer through it immediately on reaching home. To my utter surprise, I discovered that it gave me absolute no backup time. As soon as the mains are powered off the PC also goes down. After a week the UPS completely stopped working. I then tried contacting your representative in Mumbai. It took him a while to come and check out the piece. Approximately after 3 months of constantly trying to get this fellow to service my unit, he came and checked it out. He reported a faulty main board which required replacement, and the replacement would have to be shipped from Delhi.

After a couple of phone calls to this fellow I was asked to call the manufacturer (Mr. Rajat) in Delhi regarding the same. Mr.Rajat promised to look into the matter and send a replacement part. I also sent an SMS message regarding the same.

Whenever I called the local guy for the status of the spare I was always told that he never received the same from Delhi. Numerous attempts to contact Mr.Rajat on his cell phone were all unsuccessful since he always disconnected my phone. When I was able to speak to him I was told that the replacement has been shipped. But the local guy in Mumbai always claimed that he did not receive the same or it was wrongly shipped to another location.

Further attempts to contact Mr. Rajat have also failed. Have also written to Allied Communications. After numerous attempts for almost a year I was finally given a replacement. I promptly collected the replacement, which to my utter dismay also did not work. When I contacted Mr. Rajat, he assured to send in a replacement immediately. After that its been almost 2 months and still no response from the manufacturer. Every call to him is futile for either he says he is busy or simply does not receive my call. Well in the due course of last 14 months I have heard the lamest excuses, like Mr. Rajat is out of station and his cell is with some friend. or he is not well the cell is with some friend. Ugh....

There is not doubt in concluding that Alcom (Allied Communications) is least interested in serving its customers and as far as I am concerned they are FRAUDS. It has been 14months since I bought the UPS but it hasnt worked as it should, even for one day. My patience has been exhausted.

Friends PLEASE stay clear of this brand and spend yr hard earned money on a better product.
