For select readers only

This goes not for Midnight’s Children but for all of Rushdie’s works. Rushdie is not every ones writer. If you plan to use this book as an easy read, something for a train ride may be, then he is not your author. Rushdie’s works encompasses all the predominant traits of post-modern colonial literature.

To understand him one needs to dedicate as much energy into reading his books as much as he has in writing them. Rushdie as usual shines in his signature style. An India much like a history book yet unbelievable and then he leaves the in this tangle of truth and his fiction.

Give it your time if you really want to enjoy it otherwise leave it.
