I admitted my mother last July at MIOT for a fracture above right knee. Admission process itself is a nightmare. Some how I managed to get her a room. Later they diagnosed that she has a tumor at right knee and needs amputation of the whole leg. They took 22 days to figure out the tumor. Later, they suggested chemotherapy so that they can avoid amputation. They proceeded with chemotherapy without verifying whether she can withstand chemo (chemo is worst then cancer). Worst thing is they discharged my mother without telling us the side effects of chemo and what steps we need to take in case of any problem. unfortunately the chemo drug had a heavy toll on my mother. she become unconscious we had to take her back to MIOT again. They bluffed something and no proper care was give. I had to fight with them and take her to another well know hospital in Chennai.
There the doctors told me MIOT had messed up whole thing. She in coma for last one year. My whole life is screwed for the last one here. Worst thing is she wont recover anymore. I have to take care of her as long as she is alive. All because of the improper treatment and improper information given by MIOT. When asked for tissue sample for second opinion, they gave someone else liver sample. Me and my friends gave blood for my mother in the blood bank morning 9 o clock... based on their request. Next day evening they are asking wat about the blood we requested.!!! no communication between blood bank and ICU . U can find lots of security staffs then hospital staff at miot. I advice people not to go for cancer treatment in MIOT.
I suggest Apollo or Adyar cancer Institute.
