Yes....I met Gabbar Singh from Sholay in this restaurant here one night.
Folks, this is one dhaba-ishtyle restaurant near race course circle in Baroda. Look out for a big red chilli hanging out on the top. Look out also for a full size truck front just near the entrance adding to the decor and giving feel of dhaba.
The restaurant is air-conditioned. It also has open chat corner for quick bites.
Interiors I can go on writing about how tastefully the interiors are done. It resembles a shack with wooden doors and windows. All the walls are decorated with paintings of old time heros and heroines. The seating is also very trendy. If you go there for the first time, you will be lost in admiring the collection of items.
Themes They had a theme week, when one night we were there for a dinner. The theme was the movie Sholay. So all the waiters, manager and entire staff was wearing attire of various characters from the block-buster movie. We could easily identify Jailor-Asrani, Jay & Vijay, Kaalia and the famous Gabbar Singh. Occassionally the jailor would come recite the famous dialogue Hum angrezon ke jamane ke jailor hain... It was pure fun. I must also mention that there was no Basanti or Mehbooba (sigh!) I had never seen such entertainment before.
Food Just excellent. You also have a choice of Executive lunch (unlimited thali food for a fixed price) in the afternoon. Dinners are a la-carte.
Better book your table on weekends. If you have to wait, it takes max. 20 minutes and the wait is worth it.
Service Couldnt be better than this.
Pricing Too good for the decor, food quality and service. A full dinner for 4 could be around Rs.350-400/-
