I Have owned this vehicle "Mitsubishi Outlander" since 2012 and we frequently get the hitch to buy a stronger brand like Mercedes, BMW, etc. The sheer driving comfort and ride quality of this vehicle are holding us back!
The Mitsubishi Outlander car is sold as a 7 seater but those 2 rear seats are meant for kids under 5 years of age! Find it utterly useless. The front row and the second row provide ample leg room and the ride quality of the car is brilliant. Missing rear aircon vents are a glaring miss, sadly. The car has a plastic start turnkey looking lever and the key always could be kept in the pocket.
Fire the engine up and the powerplant purrs to life. I have figured that this isnt a car to be driven primarily around town, given the poor mileage of 6kpl in the city. Get to a highway and the mileage drastically improves to around 10-12kpl, which seems far more easy to live with.
The Mitsubishi Outlander seats (especially up front) are very comfortable and well laid out for long distance travel comfort. Under thigh and shoulder support seems perfect for a big guy like me, which should make sense for most users in the country.
Given that this is a vehicle that was purchased as a CBU and no longer being in production, repairs are terribly expensive. Every tiny part needs to be imported from Japan in case of any change/replacement required. This it the biggest negative that I see in the car.
The biggest positive is the Rockford Fosgate stereo that comes fitted by the factory, which has fantastic sound output. Another positive is the ride and handling. Switching lanes and driving along twisted roads makes one feel that this is the sport version of a mini, rather than a medium sized SUV. Have encountered no body roll over the past 7 years, no matter which roads have been driven on.
