I had earlier bought a sofa set from them which I appreciate was good quality. However this time I along with my wife Biswapa Nandi had purchased a dinning table set and centre table for a total payment of Rs. 60, 000/- on 23-Feb-2015. Order No. DTM/10/14-15/B00024 dated 22-Feb-2015.
It was bought from the Modfurn store/ outlet at Salt lake owned by JALAN AND SONS. The delivery was first made on 24-Feb-2015 which we found was defective on several accounts and reported back to the seller requesting them to replace. The wood was cracked or chipped at various places. Center table had improper color painted.
The glass delivered was chipped from one side at the middle. They accepted the defects and attempted several replacements after that till 3-Mar-2015 and could not deliver a defect free product. We felt being harassed as I had to take leave on two occasions for their delivery and fitting to be done under my verification. The product carried with them a 5 year warranty also, looking at their quality of deliverables and service I decided to cancel the order and requested for a refund on 7-Mar and then followed up with them on 9-Mar over email. However there has been no response till today. Even following up over phone did not help.
