''Make way for the MONSTER''

“ …Nearly 45% of the world population is unemployed “

Traditional Legacy

Placement agencies and Body shopping became a big market all over the world since the inception of Technology based companies’ boom. Though since early 60s these small placement agencies and Body shoppers got, more importance because of the personal touch. No doubt these agents used to take commission’s varying from a months salary to commission.

Internet Age

Since last couple of years there has been a rage of email and Internet. People prefer applying through an online source whether it is a recruitment portal or the companies website itself. Now, I would never use the traditional way of applying for a job i.e. through post. Life has become so easy, just an email address and then boom!!! Goes your resume.

Portal Scenario

History of recruitment portal has not been that great, though in US still 60% of the jobs are handled through these recruitment portal. The initial players like Career mosaic, monster, headhunter.net, and careerbuilder.com.

Monster.com has been the leader as far as online recruitment is concerned. As far as India is concerned, I have never seen any one getting recruited through these online portals, but let me tell you guys Monster has arrived in India and I have seen the result immediately, my close friend got recruited through Monster India in IBM.

MONSTER.COM

“Monster is a leader in online recruitment is concerned. Monster is the only job website which is being ranked 42 in the top 100 hundred website in all over category but is ranked No.1 website in the Job Category.

It has been satisfying billions of people in around 10countries. Their arrival in India is another good news for the millions of Indian who are waiting to get a good break in different job streams.

Content

Do, I have to say, anything else, they have top companies listed on their website waiting for a good candidate. The site design is really neat but at times, it has been a bit slow, but that must be due to extensive information. The website navigation is simple and searching at the website is quite easy, give appropriate keywords and you have the right job opening available.

Resources

There are various resources, which can be useful for the candidate as well as the companies.

  1. Sample Cover Letters

  2. Sample Resumes

  3. Sample Appointment Letters

  4. Tips on an interview

  5. Tips of Salary Negotiation

Apart from these, when you register as a candidate, you can create the job agent, which means a fixed keyword search and your search result will be emailed to you on daily or weekly basis.

Featured Employees

  1. DE Shaw

  2. IBM

  3. Oracle

  4. HCL info system

  5. Talisma

  6. GE

  7. Global Telesystems

  8. I2 Technologies …and many more.

You must have seen that most of the features are available in most of the recruitment portal; the point is how many of them actually get recruited. I always thought jobsahead.com had the best technology, but I don’t know how many of them have got recruited through the website.

Overall...

Loading : At times been slow

Content : Excellent

Design : International Standard

“Professionalism comes through practice and performance comes through your past mistakes.” Monster.com are pioneers in online recruitment and they have already gone through bad experiences. I couldn’t imagine my friend getting recruited just 2 days after he posted his resume.

In the scenario of people being layed off in most of the US companies, I think so Monster has done entry at the right time because the huge database of companies and candidates they have, it would come real handy for them.

So…Make way for the monster…
