It’s been a long time since I reviewed something. So, I decided to write one. I happened to
get the dvd of this film. Since, many told me it was good, I decided to see it. It is indeed
one of the best animated films I have seen.
Monsters Inc. Is the story about James P.Sullivan and Mike Wazowski, 2 monsters who work at
Monsters Incorporated. This company supplies electricity for the whole monster city. The
company generates electricity by making children scream. Hence, the monsters go into the
rooms of children, scare them and the scream tanks get filled up. James Sullivan , is the
best scarer of all the monsters. He tops the list every time.His assitant is Mike Wazowski,
a one-eyed green little monster.
Envied by James’s record, Randall, another worker of Monsters Inc., works overtime to beat
James’s record. Now, James eventually passes by the scare floor and sees an unattended door
(doors are the portals which connect the monsters to the child’s room, each door represents
a child). He looks in it and sees no kid in the room, only to find it hanging to his tail.
He desperately tries to get rid of the kid (kids are considered toxic in the Monster World, a
monster could lose his job if he brings in a kid). After failing in several attempts to get
rid of the kid, James finally asks Mike for help. Both of them , at first keep away from the
kid. But seeing the attraction of the girl towards him, James develops a fatherly affection
towards the kid. He decides to protect it from the other monsters and lead it back to it’s room.
Randall, on the other hand tries to generate scream through a machine which forces the
scream out. Randall captures Mike and tries this, before which James recues Mike. However,
the CEO, Mr.Waternoose gets to know that James and Mike have the kid and both are banned
from the company. They are sent to the Artic from where they fight back to the monster
world.How they rescue Boo (The little girl kid) and how they get rid of Randall are very
well made. The story has a very unexpected twist in the end which one can watch out for.
The animations have been very well made with Mike providing the humour to the film.
The characters and the voices have been done very well. Watching Monsters Inc. is quite a
treat to all humour lovers and is one of the best films in animation which has been made till date.
