Morokko is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to.First of all, the waiters are shockingly rude.This was not only our experience but we were witness to a fight between two customers and some staff. Apparently the customers had been over billed and the ensuing ruckus escalated to a full fledged fight, it looked like fists would fly but thankfully did ’nt. Next, the food is strictly average when its not below par like the tava prawns.The kebabs are a little rubbery and too sour...you can taste the marinade as if its still a bit raw.The drinks are your average fare.
The prices are totally not justified.100 plus for a non alcoholic drink is okay in an upmarket place, but not in this corridor of a restaurant..... which brings us to its decor next. I am really feeling bad trashing the place but I just don’t seem to find a kind word about it. Anyway, the ’decor’(??)if you can call it that, is bamboo scaffolding wrapped in bed sheets. There are bed sheets covering the ’ceilings’ (for want of a better word), these so-called ceilings are blue or black plastic sheets draped over said bamboos to create a roof of sorts, and its ripped in places.I hope I’m not nit picking here but for their prices you feel you deserve more.Every one of my friends was zapped when they saw this.
There are wires lying all over the place and hanging in bunches off the wall mounted fans. The sheeshas or hookas don’t last very long and one of the guys suspected that they had skimped on the tobacco.These hookas just don’t seem to have flavour after the first few drags.Unlike other places where you feel the sweetness till the end.Neither did they offer to fill up the hookas with ice or juices, when we asked the attendant, he said they don’t do that here.Hmmm.....But they charge the same amount i.e. Rs.150 or 200 for a simple double apple or mint.And beware, they don’t refill the coal for at least 40 minutes at a time. I just wanted my money back at the end of the evening, it was that bad.We ordered fish and chips too, just don’t go there if you don’t like stinky fish.All in all, its not the best place tospend your money.The open ambience is not relaxing, it just makes everyone shout more to be heard.Give this one a skip, there’s lots to choose from these days.
