The look is great, but the works is anything but great.
Had been using a 20 year old model of Racold OTG before it got into a unrepairable mode. So switched onto a brand new one from world famous Morphy Richards. However the experience was anything but pleasant.
Purchased the OTG a year back and it came with all the possible application that would make it an attractive buy. The OTG comes with skewers, rotatory griller, trays and a picker...all these accessories have fantastic finish in comparison to others available in the market. The knobs, switches, indicators, body, inside is all done up very well and gives that international standard.
However, once bought, the oven gave the problem with its thermostat which failed...result burned cookies for tea time. Being under warranty, it was mended and the next we knew, we were eating cake which was baked on one side. A second repair and changes of thermostat did little to help as muffins came out sogged up. Our innumerable calls with this complain went to dead ears.
Thermostats are the heart of OTGs and if this fails the very process of the oven has failed. Morphy Richards OTG has become a liability as aftersales service, which I presume is provided by its Indian partner failed to deliver upto satisfaction.
It is a great ornamentation piece which looks good in the kitchen...however I wish that my Morphy Richards OTG would morph into something else that could deliver.
