This review is mainly centered around the website ( https://motortrend.com) though the magazine Motortrend is also equally popular among auto enthusiasts.
The Good
Quality of Journalism
Top Notch. The articles are current, the auto-journalists are knowledgeable and veterans in their areas. The team makes sure that they cover all the new and unreleased autos with juicy tidbits about what to expect and when. The numbers are quite realistic and expectations are not un-realistic i.e. you dont have journalists giving a roadster low marks because it does not have a large trunk.
Breadth
The website features both new and used autos. There is a very helpful Buyers Guide that provides detailed reviews, specs, prices and so on. The side-by-side comparison is a great help in shortlisting for the ultimate purchase.
Archive
Herez the reason for the title. This site has a treasury of information about cars of all eras. Just type the keyword and it will return relevent links. Almost like google. :)
Interactive Experience
As is the case for any decent website MT features a discussion list that is generally populated by knowledgable folk who are willing to share their wisdom on all things n sundry should you be interested. There is also a trip planning tool that offers useful advice should you plan to motor across America.
Community
The MT Car and Truck of the year awards are widely recognized as being the unofficial Oscars of the auto community. Car companies strive to get these and boast about them once they win.
The Bad
The site is US centric. It is not an international site like thecarconnection.com or edmunds.com. If they add this feature it will truly become the automotive mecca of cyber-space.
