Ques: How many songs can it store?
Ans: The MP3 is a very good format for storing songs in less space without comprising on the quality of the song. The software that accompanies this phone, has MP3 converter that can change your Audio CD songs into MP3 that will be optimized for size, to be transferred to your cell.
Example: I had 2 Audio CD’s of Avril Lavigne, total of 16 songs. I converted them, very easily, and then transferred it. Its still has 60% space left. Thus, storing capacity is not a problem.
Ques: Whats the accompanying Software Capable of in context of Music?
Ans: It can handle sound of WAV, MP3, AMR and ADP format. Editing features like FadeIn/FadeOut effects can be used to modify the song/ringtone. It can also optimize MP3 to make another MP3. Its awesome.

Ans: Motorola has standard FM earphones for all its cell-phones. However, this doesnt ship with one. YOu have to buy it separate. The same can be used for listening music, FM and HandsFree.
Ques: How is the sound quality? Can it replace an actual MP3 player?
Ans: Yes, if you listen through the stereo head-set, it would compete with an actual MP3 player. The sound quality is much more than good. Listening through Speakphone in quite places is good. The battery-life would be a bottle-neck if u are a kind who would have music phones hooked up in ur ears all day. But just remember the mess you have to carry when u have to carry an MP3 player. Extra batteries, adapters, CDs, charger, box to keep it safe etc. Ofcourse, unless u have an iPOD kinda thing. But, even iPOD is just a music player!!! E398 is much much much more than that and even then costs less.
Ques: How is music managed?
Ans: You have an option to make playlists and arrange the songs in the order you like them or put them on shuffle mode. Or you can play songs individually. The songs can be put to restart once finished. Similarly, the playlist can be selected to start all over again when finished.

Ans: Bluetooth is slow. Tranferring from PC using a USB cable is ok, not fast. But remember, you are transferring complete songs that you would like to erase someday and write over again. It much more than writing to a blank CD.
Ques: Does it have Foreward/Rewind mechanism, Next track/ Previous track option?
Ans: Yep! You can rewind or forward a song. You can go to previous track, goto next track in a playlist..... Other standard options are Pause, Stop and Play, Volume Attend incoming call etc.

Ques: What can be bluetooth used for?
Ans: Connecting to another device that is Bluetooth enabled. You can transfer song, ringtone, Phonebook entry and other data using Bluetooth. You can buy a wireless headset and connect to the cell using Bluetooth. Because of this you would never need an IR port. Thats why IR port isnt available on this cell. Bluetooth is technologically enhanced than an IR cause you dont need a ’’line of sight’’ connectivity. Any device which is within 15 meters of this phone will be detected.
GPRS
Ques: Is setting up GPRS in a Motorola difficult?
Ans: I have a Hutch connection, and they provide all the settings needed to set-up GPRS. The ’’WEB’’ Browser is kool. My earlier phone only had a WAP broser. I found a few bugs in my old Nokia 3530 WAP browser. But surfing with this one is not only good, but beautiful because it has a much bigger display and colors are more rich.
Camera
Ques: HOw is the camera compared to other phones?
Ans: Its definitely better than all the others. You have to have a look to believe it yourself. I wont say that nothing like them is available in the market, but its a very good camera.
Ques: What are the best things about the camera?
Ans: Its a VGA camera. It has 4X zoom capability. It sports a small-range Flash. It supports three resolutions ( 160x120, 320x240, 640x480). It has auto-timed capture feature. You can set lighting conditions (Indoor, Cloudy, Night, Sunlight etc.). You can set the exposure.
Ques: Whats the best thing about the camera?
Ans: The 640x480 resolution and clarity are superb. Just click and transfer the pictue to your PC and you wont believe your eyes!

Ques: How is the picture quality?
Ans: You have various options to get a good quality picture. Brightness control, Exposure, Lighting condition, Flash etc. However, the taking pictures in the night is not good. The contrast suffers in the night and unless u are taking picture of a closer object using the integrated flash, the pictures arent good.
Ques: Can it record video?
Ans: Nope. It cannot record video. But thats ok. Even other phones that had video recorders recorded it for only 5 minutes. I could’nt find a very good use for that.
Lets talk about :The Phone’’ now
The display is good because of it color-depth and brightness. Like many other good quality things you keep discovering good features as you use it. Motorola has been pro-active this time to provide a feature rich cell-phone. The keyboard lights are very beautiful and it looks like a jewel in the night. You can even use the Flash it has like a torch light!!!
Afterall, its is a combination of small small small things that make a great impact. Besides these small beautiful baby-innovations, you have biggie-introductions like Camera and Music player.
Office Tools

Ans: Well, I was about to take Motorola A760. (Thats a PDA). But I somehow took this E398. And to my utter surprise, it can get synchronized with Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. Like me, if you keep your appointments and meetings and daily activity journal in the Outlook ’’Calender’’, you will be happy to find out that all that stuff can be sent to your E398. Any alarms that you have set on the PC will be transferred to the phone and vide-versa... . Backup your phone contact list on the PC. Synchronize the Outlook contact list with the phone contact list. Go on, explore....
