A good phone with good features

After researching the info on the Net I finally went and bought the E398 for about 9K including VAT. Though the 64MB Transflash memory given free with the handset it is of not much use as the number of high quality songs that you store is less. A 256 or 512 would have been good.

I needed an MP3 player with decent graphics and a handy and sleek unit which is what this E398 is about.

Its got dual stereo speakers with vibration on the handset itself with an Integrated MP3 player and stereo headphones are also provided. It has 3D stereo sound like the SE W800i. The memory is removable. Songs can be loaded onto the memory with a card reader (not included in the package).

There is bluetooth connectivity which I have not yet used. A camera with 4x zoom is on the average. Photos taken are good and quality comes down if used with the zoom function. Not advised for serious photography. The display is 65K color TFT.

Java games are available on the set. Its got MPEG4 playback with no support for video recording.

It is a triband handset with handsfree speakerphone which is very clear. The audio is crisp and clear. The only missing function is the FM radio which could have been included.

Though a bit bulky when you look at it, it surely is nice to hold.

MP3 maker software is bundled with it which converts your regular high quality songs to a lower bit rate to save on the space without much loss in quality.

The only problem faced so far is the slow response time in the menus when MP3 player is on.

Overall a nice phone that has nice features for the price it carries...
