If u dont know, let me tell u Motorola was earlier a part of Google and that was the time, Moto G seires, E series and X series were introduced and needless to say they were a market shaker at that time but in 2014 Lenovo bought it from Google and this year its influence is clearly visible over Motorola.
Build and design: The phone is built out of plastic. But this time its a flat back. I dont know abt u but I personally loved the Moto round back that gave a very good grip and in hand feel. Dont know why Motorola decided to change it this year.
Display: The displays on the moto g series has not been that gr8. But this time its a 5.5 in 1080p display and is very vibrant and viewing angles are also damn good.
Battery life: The battery life is just avg. nothing that gr8. Can last at typical working day with SOT of abt 4 hrs. But it charges fairly quickly.
Performance: The phone is powered by Snapdragon 617 chip inside. Dont know why Moto chose it instead of 650 or 652. The device however has no issues with even heavy tasks like gaming. The 3Gb of ram with stock android performs well. But there is severe heating issue which can be irritating in Indian summers. The temp. can easily reach 47-49 C with heavy gaming. This is also not good for the life of internals.
Camera: Camera is needless to say the best available in this range. We saw improvements in camera in the previous gen and it continues to be in this gen too. The front camera however is not that gr8 in artificial lighting.
Speaker: The device has a single speaker which is just avg. not that gr8 like its previous gens.
This time around the phone is not water-proof, just splash resistant.
Call quality is excellent. No complains.
Updates: Here we see the change. Moto phones run stock android and are well-known for thier fast updates. But Moto stated that it wud not be providing the Monthly security update to devices from now which Google has asked all OEMs to do. So, Updates are not garanteed this time.
Price and comp. The device is priced at 13.500 for 16gb variant with 2gb ram and 15000 for 32 gb variant and 3 gb ram. I wud say if camera is ur highest priority then only pick this phone up. Otherwise look for something else. And as always its sold online exclusively.
