First the Cons.
Battery Life is just about average. Even after the Android Marshmallow Update.
It will be very hard, if not impossible, to find a decent Tempered Glass Screen Protector.
Camera is just about above average in low light condition. Another thing, the camera interface sucks and Motorola needs to update it.
No Fingerprint Scanner. I mean is it a necessity, not at all. I mean not for me. I have a smart watch and all my devices are configured to keep it unlocked when they detect my smartwatch nearby so I have no need to unlock it. Also I am not a RAW Agent or a Spy who needs to secure highly classified national security documents with a fingerprint.
Now the Pros.
Amazing Screen Quality. Its 2K or QHD and blah blah blah, none of it matters. This is one amazing screen which is quite color accurate and very bright. Black are deep but not Samsung AMOLED Deep. Also the side bezels, which is the black or white area around the screen, is very thin, almost the thinnest in a smartphone.
Front facing, Stereo Speakers which are very very loud. This is probably the loudest speakers you can get on a phone, with amazing sound quality. This is one of the very few phones which I do not have to keep at maximum volume.
Amazing camera quality, in day time or with good to average lighting. Comparable to any other flagship camera. The focus is fast and accurate. With ultra fast shutter speed.
Micro SD Card support and with the Android Marshmallow Update, this become an even amazing feature. After update you can merge the Internal Memory and External SD Card Memory into one single block. For example in other devices you get a 32 GB Internal Memory and you can get a 32 GB Micro SD Card, but all the apps( like Whatsapp, Large Games, etc.), will always use the internal storage for storing Data. The Micro SD Card will only be used for storing media files such as Photos, Videos and/or Music. But after update in Moto X Style, it become 1 single Storage. For example, I have a 32 GB Moto X Style with 128 GB Samsung Micro SD XC Card UHS-1 so after everything I have a single 150 GB of Storage which will be available for all apps. No Internal/External Storage. 1 Single Storage.
Turbo Charging. Do not get fooled by Fast Charging of other phones. This is Qualcomm Quickcharge 2.0 and the fastest charging phone in the world. Normal fast chargers use a 9W charger, other with faster charging use, 15W Charger while Moto uses a whopping 25W Charger. The whole battery charges from 0-100 in about 70-80 mins and in about 20-25 mins, you can get about 50% battery.
Finally Performance. Any device above 25000 Rs would get your job done. Most of the time. I am currently using a Oneplus One with Snapdragon 801 - 3GB RAM, a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with Snapdragon 805 - 3 GB RAM, a Moto X Style with Snapdragon 808 - 3 GB RAM and a ZTE Nubia Z9 with Snapdragon 810 - 3 GB RAM and all of these devices have almost similar performance, most of the time. Only in a very high end game like the Asphalt 8 of Modern Combat 5 or NOVA 3 with Graphics set to extreme or highest, can you see a minor difference. The Snapdragon 810 heats up the fastest, then performance gets throttled and the device still performs well. FOR HEATING ISSUES - READ THIS CAREFULLY. ALL ABOVE DEVICES HEAT UP WITH EXTREME GAMING OF ABOUT 15-20 MINS. NONE BECOMES UNABLE TO USE.
Meanwhile for Moto X Style, there is no lag in anything, performance is buttery smooth. 3 GB RAM is plenty for hardcore multitasking.
- One of the first devices to get Android Marshmallow Update. All others will have to wait till next year unless you buy a Nexus.
To sum it up, Moto X Style is a great device. A Must buy for this price. I understand that this is cheaper to buy all over the world and it is overpriced in India but 32000 is a price you would be happy to pay for t. I mean, considering most flagship phones, the minimum you have to pay for a top end phone is almost 4000
