Intro: I went searchig for a PDA and ended up buying a Motorola Motorokr E6. To start with I didn’t fell in love with set as I did not like the overall styling of this phone but when I started using it the love for this mean machine slowly brewed.
Keypad - Input: Good that there is no seperate keyboard else the size of the phone would have gone bigger. The absence of physical keyboard is adequately compensated by the ease with with you can use stylus to input data. The touch screen function is superb in it’s class.
Camera:(Still / Video/ Webcam) A 2 megapixel camera gives sufficiently good result with brightness control and 8X optical Zoom. Had there been a flash the camerea fucntion would have been complete. Add to it the supplied 1GB card(you can use any type of card in the slot) allows you to take los of photos and capture continuous video. Further the photoeditor allows you to edit the stored or captured photos. Interestingly you can use the cell as a webcam(interesting, isn’t it)
Music: Coming to music which is its USP, it stands top of most the cell phones. The sound quality with headphone(Supplied) is amazing. You don’t need to carry your iPod if you have a MRokr with you. Real Media Player is easy to use and Video reproduction is good. The FM radio reception is fine.
GPRS: GPRS connectivity(though dependent on network) is good and browing the network is easy. Built in option for going to Google and Gmail is new idea. Though viewing the attachment of your email remains a limitation. But it cannot be taken as a negative for this class of cell.
Business Card Reader: BCR works very well and the recognition is crisp and smart. You just aim and click the business card and the information are stored at the respective fields in the address book, now I don’t needto store other’s business card with me. I loved this feature.
Sync: the synchronisation function allows you to connect with your laptop/PC. Once connected you can use the file transfer, music transfer, Video transfer, Phonbe book sync from phone to PC and PC to laptop with ease. An easy way to keep your media file updated.
Other regular features like GPRS, Sound Recorder, Bluetooth, FM Radio, Calender, Tasks, Notes, Calculator works well and there is no unusual disadvantage or advantage.
At Rs 17300 this phone is worth buying. I can say it’s a ROKR.
