MotoROKR E8 - Breaking My Habit

On the first look, the word that came oout of my mouth was "TMA". With the dimension ratio of 1:4:9, I would guess few of my readers have already guessed it. The E8 looked awesome, gleaming in a solid black aura.

One of the best thing I liked was it’s cold black dead look when it goes into standby mode. The keypad disappears in a smooth flicker to give a solid brick like appearance.

Thanks to its virtual keypad, there are no physical keys on its surface and the surface is amazingly scratch proof! The keys morph as and when needed for the application that runs at that point of time. When the music player is on, the look of it can give any mp3 player in the market a run for life.

The 2x2 inches screen is a li’l small but equally bright to look at. The camera is a disappointment though and hardly matches any 2 mega pixel mobile camera, but again E8 is a music phone and not a cybershot!

Another appreciable feature is its 3.5" audio jack. This means you can plug it into any external audio output audio device (headphone/speaker). Lastly, the memory bulk in E8 is a comparitively huge 2GB internal with an option of upto 4GB external. The cumulative memory is an appreciable 6GB!!

And Oh! Did I forget the wonderful jog dial control in middle of the pad-screen? Its really smooth to operate and stylish too!! The phone is comparatively light and slim and is one of the few successful brick shaped phone from Moto. This phone has given a new meaning to the touch-screen technology and it’s usage.

You can have the style of a touch-screen along with the comfort/ease of a keypad. For I know, in any conventional touch-screen phone, typing with bare finger is a huge problem, unless of course it is accompanied with a QWERTY keyboard. In E8, it is a normal numeric keypad.

After a long time I really found an unique phone with some unique features. In my own opinion, it is one of the worthy phones from the shelf of Motorola (I would also like to mention MotoRAZR V8 among them).
