Sleek and Stylish.

I had been on the look out for a new mobile. My budget was around 4000 bucks. I needed a

colour mobile with basic features. But I had to wait because no mobile in the market looked

good at that price. My wait wasn’t for long.

Motorola’s New Mobile phone, Moto W220(also known as Moto Flip) is a damn good package for

any person looking for an entry level, cheap, yet stylish mobile. Since this product is from

Motorola, the tag’style’ is attached. However let me brief you about it’s features.

Features.

The W220 comes along with FM Radio with amazing clarity that even your car stereo sounds

weak in clarity in front of the W220. The keypad is flat just as in the Moto Slvr and the

Moto Razr. The Menu contains 9 icons namely Phone Book, Call History, Messages, Tools

(which include Calculator, Calendar, Chat etc), Games, Web Access, Multimedia, Alarm Clock and

Settings. The main highlight about this phone is the memory it can hold. The Moto W220 can

hold upto 850 phone numbers(600 in the phone, 250 in SIM) and can store upto 250 SMS which

includes the messages in your Inbox, Outbox and Drafts.

The phone contains 3 games namely Football, Rebel and Crazy. Football and Crazy are a good

past-time when you are bored. The phone is GPRS enabled. This makes it a handsome buy. A

GPRS phone at an attractive price.

Usage.

Since I am typing this review after a month’s usage of the phone, I was able to notice a few

advantages and disadvantages about this phone. The advantages are that the phone’s keypad

doesnt get worn out. The disadvantages are that the flip pivot starts squeaking after a

couple of weeks of constant usage. The Backlight is very bright and enables a user to see

messages easily under sunlight too.

The FM Radio enables a person to store upto 9 channels. Another disadvantage in this phone

is that one cant type a message very quickly using the dictionary. The dictionary responds

quite slowly but for an average mobile user with limited message usage, this wont be a major

problem. For those high-message using people, the Moto Slvr would be a better option.

The phone also has an external display of icons for Message, Incoming Call, Battery

Charging. These icons make it easy for a user to flip up the phone or not.

Thats all on this phone of mine. Moto W220 is worth it’s cost and is sure to take low-priced

mobiles into a new dimension. The Black Moto W220 looks much better than it’s metallic

variant.
