My unforgettable journey to Mt Abu

Mt Abu- What an exotic place to be.. Sorrounded by mountains on all sides gives an exotic and natural view. It is a place where your mind and soul can relax. You can truly understand your inner self and experience a sense of satisfaction with life.

I travelled with Mt Abu with one of my best friend Gaurav in March ’06. What a time it was to travel and get the blessings of the Almighty. Actually, some days before my appointment for an interview for business visa for US was been taken and scheduled in September. It takes about 4-5 hours to reach Mt Abu from Ahmedabad, the capital city of Gujarat. Approx. 450 kms from Ahmedabad. We started our journey from Ahmedabad at 9:00AM in the morning(immediately after I finished work from my BPO night job!). Reached there at around 3PM in the noon. It took little more time than usual but travelling in a bus with lots of differrent people is also a cool experience. What a journey it was. Unforgettable.

Likes/Dislikes about my tripLikes and dislikes are part of a person’s innerbelief. Mt Abu is a place which is full of temples/lakes/food joints. We stayed there in a beautiful hotel sorrounded by gardens/flowers. I loved watching nakki lake(a lake round in shape and near the hills). We enjoyed boating in the fresh water of the lake, taking pictures of birds that are rare to see in other parts of the country.

Day two of my trip: Went to visit Gurushikhar-temple at the highest altitude. We hired a bike and went around on the zig-zag roads. The total trip was 9kms till the top peak. But coming down was more of a fun because we don’t have to do anything except applying brakes! If you loose your control then you are all set to fall hundreds of feet down! We worshipped all the Gods and made a wish of blessing all human beings and making us pure internally.

We also played pool at the club, had cofee at the CCD junction(I’m a coffee lover except Irish one!). When it comes to eating in Mt Abu, always remember Dal-Bati. favourite Rajasthani dish. I love that. There are many eating joints that offer delicious food and who can forget the ice-cream in the cool weather.

Lastly there a place called Sunset point in Mt Abu. It is a place which is called Lover’s Paradise. Next time I would definately like to go there with my fiancee(thats what I asked God for when I visited Gurushikar). One can see the beautiful Sunset and the last Golden rays of Sun touching the earth.

What I would do differrently next time: I would definately go there with my fiance or girlfriend If I got to have any relationship!! But we truly enjoyed the trip.

For whom would I recommend this trip: For yougsters who want to chill out, for newly wed couples who wants to understand each other, get some privacy....

But top of it all, the climate in India is hot particularly between April-July. So it’s the best time for all to get relaxed in Mt Abu and enjoy a similiar experience like winter.

Temparature is always cool and pleasant around there because of the altitude.
