Dewin' the Dew!

Mountain Dew first came out when I was a small child. At the time I didn’t know (or care) about caffeine or sugar content. I just knew what I liked and I LIKED Mountain Dew! It disappeared from sight for a while, but now it is back. Stronger than ever!

Pepsi products, including Mountain Dew, are a staple in our household. We do try to limit our intake because of the high sugar and caffeine content. Mountain Dew has a refreshing and different. It is not a ’’run of the mill’’ soft drink. Mountain Dew’s closest competitors are Mellow Yellow and Surge. Neither one manages to capture Mountain Dew’s ’’certain something’’ that has kept it in America’s hearts for all these years.

Now, for the statistics: A 12 oz. can has 170 calories, 46 grams of sugar and 70mg of sodium.   Caffeine is listed about half way through the list of ingredients.

Obviously, Mountain Dew is not a drink in which you would want to overindulge. You might also want to limit intake before bedtime. But, used in moderation, it is a unique and delicious addition to the soft drink market. Try it after spending a day outside in the hot sun. Nothing beats dewin’ the dew!
