Its been a while since my descent into Stardom and the euphoria has sunk in finally. Stardom brings a lot of high flying with itself. For the benefit of my newly joined brethren who may be interested in knowing more about Stardom on MS and its prerequisites, I have compiled hereunder, a series of criterion/topics that I suppose will make it easier for them to understand this Stardom and guage its extent. Also, to admit the truth, methinks writing on this topic is a sign of having arrived...

Reviews/DPs on topics of Popular Interest - If you are reviewing books, make sure you review everything by Shobha De & Chetan Bhagat. If you are into reviewing movies, make sure you review everything on SRK/Aamir/Saif/Kareena/Katrina/Bipasha, etc. If you are into Diaries, make sure you dont miss writing on Women’s Reservation and Attacks in Australia. This way, not only do you increase your footfall, you increase your FP/ROTD chances too. It might amuse you to learn that all Reviews on MNIK and Kaminey have been featured....so dont miss the bus next time a SRK movie is released.
Rating/Commenting (You can safely ignore Reading !!) - When it comes to getting Ratings/Comments on your posts, the rule is delightfully simple - "Quid Pro Quo". The more rating/comments you give, the more you’ll get and the higher brand recall you’ll have. You’ll hear honourable (wo)men swearing in public that they abide by this Golden Rule. Love it or Hate it, you cant ignore the Rule. You have to make a choice "Abide or Step Aside...
Sending & Receiving Gifts - Its the kinda thing that can get you places, quite literally. You should make it a point to send gifts to all persons who RRC(Read/Rate/Comment) on your post. They might of course reciprocate by thanking you and telling you how well you write. If you are a smart kid you’d send Gifts again, thanking them for the compliments. They might then return the gift ’thanking you’. Make sure you send them another gift saying "Thank you for thanking me..."
Trusting Left Right & Centre - People love to be Trusted ! So go ahead and pamper them. They’ll pamper you in return. Soon you’ll end up with a 1000 people in your TC, making you the "Most Trusted Guy on MS". It also means that your Reviews/DPs will reach out to a large percentage of MSians and you’ll be "Talk Of The Town", for whatever the Town is worth.
Getting along with Ladies like a House On Fire - As in real life, it pays to be in their good books. They are where the activity is or to put it the other way, Activity is where they are. Stick to them and you’ll get yourself noticed in no time. Add a bit of chivalry and a bit of the streetfighter image and you’ll go places.
Getting up close with Star Plagiarists - Star Plagiarists are always on a lookout for innocent victims, err enlightened folks who can read/rate/comment on their reviews. Getting up close & personal with them ensures that your Reviews/DPs are handsomely appreciated/rewarded with gifts/comments from distinguished Plagiarists.
Did I say Plagiarists ? Make that the Inspireds/Genuitically Challenged. You cant afford to be politically incorrect in a Forum such as this.
Profile Visits - Again the "Quid Pro Quo" works here. The more profiles you visit, the more your profile will be visited and higher the probability of MS Admin shortlisting you for Stardom. MS uses their proprietary SORT technology to shortlist the most popular Profiles in the last seven days. You only have to wait for the technology to start working :-P
Changing your Profile - I must confess I’m not quite the right person to be opining on this. But experts will tell you that you should be changing your profile at least 10 times a day to get footfall. To start with you can change your interests on a daily basis. For example early morning your favorite movie/Serial could be Chariots Of Fire/Krishna (MS early birds/Joggers easily identify with it) but in the afternoon it should be MNIK/3 Idiots as this is the time when SRK/Aamir fans, especially ladies log in. At night you might consider changing this to Rock On, this being the time when the hep/metrosexual/intelligentsia logs in. Your photo must be updated 5-6 times daily with yourself in various poses. If you are ugly/fat...err fab, flaunt it. If you arent able to think of anything and dont have spare snaps, you can always add a dot here and a comma there to update your profile. Remember updating profile means that you are a "Happening" kid and updating photo means you are a ’Happening Kid’ with a digicam/mobile with a camera !!
Status Messages - I would strongly advise you to go through my DP https://mouthshut.com/diary/hjijsuplp/A-Day-In-The-Life to realise the power of status messages. The fact that you are statusing from the toilet of the Chicago Airport or the toilet of the PanAm flight from Atlanta to Pittsburgh or a toilet in Dharavi decides how important a person you are and consequently the attention you deserve. For VIPs who are hard pressed for time, these are the only places where they can spare a few seconds.
Hope all your doubts stand clarified. In case you are still wondering - what does stardom bring with it ? A lot actually ! To start with ...err....umm.... you get a star next to your name...then...ummm....its actually a golden star not a silver one....then...err....the star status will stay with you till you die...
