I have enjoyed posting and reading reviews on Mouthshut for a while now. Its a wonderful website which gives people a platform to express themselves about a variety of products and services and has evolved into a real Consumer forum. However, one sore point rankles.
Something has happened in this country of ours over the last decade. The quality of service in the service industry has drifted downhill. This is true of a wide gamut of services and the service providers themselves are painfully aware of the sad situation. Even though we have a one billion plus people in this country, it is incredibly difficult to get committed people to do any kind of job well.
While we do expect objective feedback on the quality of services that reviewers have experienced, we should think twice before using strong language or making sweeping statements. I have come across a few(let me emphasise, only a few) reviews where, companies which provided shoddy service are referred to as cheats, thieves, looters and what not. Due, in part, to what is said in the last para, many companies are not able to maintain the standards that they would like to. It woud be unfair to imply that all of them have deliberate policies which intend to cheat the public.
Let us reserve the strongest language to those cases where the intention to cheat was obvious!
